The Remote Primary Health Care Manuals (RPHCM) are evolving!
For decades, the Remote Primary Health Care Manuals (RPHCM) have supported clinicians working in some of Australia’s most challenging and rewarding practice environments. Now, as clinical resources increasingly move beyond print, the manuals are beginning the transition to a new digital future.
This change presents an important opportunity. A digital platform will allow content to be updated more quickly, respond to emerging evidence, and better reflect the realities of delivering care in remote and isolated settings.
Following a competitive tender process, Therapeutic Guidelines Limited (TGL) has been selected to lead this work by the Department of Health, Disability and Aging.
TGL is exploring and consulting with the RPHCM Governance Committee, users and representatives from remote primary health care services, and key stakeholders to support the development of a user-friendly, accessible digital resource that continues to uphold the clinical quality and the user-led ethos of RPHCM.
The new digital version will be available in February 2027.
Have your say
The success of this transition depends on the people who know the Manuals best: the people who use or refer to the CARPA Standard Treatment Manual, Women’s Business Manual, Clinical Procedures Manual, and Medicines Book for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners.
Take the RPHCM User Survey to share your thoughts about the manuals.
Your feedback will help shape the new look, feel and function of a resource relied upon by generations of remote health professionals.
